Deosai National Park

Deosai is one of the major tourist destinations of the Skardu District. Deosai is a national park established to secure the lives of several animal and birds species such as Snow Leopard, Red Fox, Himalayan Brown Bear, Wolf, Golden Eagle, Sparrow Hawk and Snow Cock. Besides the wild life planet, this place is famous for its green plateau, flora and fauna, snow-caped mountains, streams and wild thick flowers. The park is only accessible in summer. You must visit this exotic place which is world 2^nd highest plateau on earth.

Basho Valley

Basho is lush green, pine forested and beautiful valley located 20km from the Skardu airport. This valley is famous for its green meadows, waterfalls and pine forest.

Shangri-La Resort

Shangrila resort Skardu was named "Heaven on Earth" because of its mesmerizing beauty, spectacular view and breathe taking atmosphere. This heavenly resort is located 35km from the Skardu built on a beautiful lake. This resort is best known for its boating in Skardu.

Sadpara Lake

This lake is the ultimate fairy-tale with bright blue, bursting with rainbow, surrounding by glacier and Scenic Mountains. Sadpara Lake is also a major tourist’s attraction, famous for fishing and boating.

Shigar Valley

Shigar Valley is 23 km away from Skardu; this valley is gateway to the mighty Karakarum Mountains, the valley is known for proliferating varieties of crop and fruits such as apricots, walnuts, pears, peaches and grapes. Shigar Fort is one of the major tourist’s attractions in the valley, once was the residence of local ruler and recently renovated by the Aga Khan Culture Services. You will also see the fascinating architecture of Wooden Mosque built by Kashmiri Carpenters in the middle of Shigar Valley.

Cold Desert of Skardu

At the cold region and high altitude “Sand dunes” are not less than a wonder. Katpana Desert and Shigar Desert are listed among the major tourist attraction in Skardu. Sand Dunes are also known as Cold Desert.

Buddha Rock Curving

This rock curving came into existence when Buddhism was practicing in the region. Buddhist monks of that time carved drawings of their vision, experiences and images of Buddha with text written in Tibetan Language. The Buddhist rocks were the place of their worship till the mid-14^th Century A.D before the advent of Islam in the region. The Buddhist rock is located in a village on the way to Satpara Lake.

Kharpocho Fort

Kharpocho Fort stands at a height of nearly 1,400 meters above the city. A brute fist of stone and rock, the rough edges of the fort make it seem like it was forged out of the mountain itself. The ancient and famous fort, gives you a hill top view of the whole town, you can see the Indus River crawls under the feet of the mighty fort.

Upper Kachura Lake

The most mesmerizing lake in Skardu, 70 meters deep Lake is enclosed by fruit laden braid and forests within the foreground and also the snow lined peaks and mountains within the background. The lake is located 20km from the Skardu city.

Itineraries

Day 1

Fly to Skardu from New Islamabad International Airport. In one hour flight you will have great experience of aerial view of the great Karakarum-Himalaya ranges from the PIA ATR operating between Islamabad and Skardu. Check in to hotel, Visit to upper Kachura lake, Boating in Shangrila Lake, explore the Skardu city.

Day 2

Have breakfast in hotel, Visit Deosai National Park on local private Jeep, Short stay at Shivsar Lake and back to Sadpara Lake, night stay in Skardu.

Day 3

Breakfast in hotel and Move towards Shigar Valley, stopover at Sand Dunes of Shigar known as Cold Desert and Visit Shigar Fort then Move towards Khaplu Valley stay in hotel in Khaplu.

Day 4

Breakfast, Visit Khaplu Fort, Mosque Chanqchan dating back to 1200 Century, Visit Khaplu Fish Farms and move towards Skardu City for Night stay in Skardu.

Day 5

Flight to Islamabad from Skardu Airport. In case of flight not operate then drive towards Chilas Valley and reach there in 8 Hours via Skardu Road and Check Into Hotel

Day 6

Breakfast in Hotel, early morning drive via Babusar Top if road is open and reach Rawalpindi / Islamabad in 12 to 13 Hours.

Transfer to the Airport

Day 1

Departure for Chillas via Karakorum Highway Or Babusar pass(if the pass is open) KKH is the highest highway in the world, stretching over 1,290km connecting Pakistan and China, is considered as the 8^th wonder of the world. The trip to Chillas brings you the amazing landscape of north Pakistan with magnificent mountains and small villages along the mighty indus river. We can also see many decorated trucks on the road to enjoy the traditional art of Pakistan.

Day 2

Today we will drive to Skardu on the Karakurum Highway and then follow the narrow road along the Indus River, en-route we will visit upper Kachura Lake and make some short stop for photography, arrive and transfer to the hotel in Skardu.
