Deosai is one of the major tourist destinations of the Skardu District. Deosai is a national park established to secure the lives of several animal and birds species such as Snow Leopard, Red Fox, Himalayan Brown Bear, Wolf, Golden Eagle, Sparrow Hawk and Snow Cock. Besides the wild life planet, this place is famous for its green plateau, flora and fauna, snow-caped mountains, streams and wild thick flowers. The park is only accessible in summer. You must visit this exotic place which is world 2^nd highest plateau on earth.

• Basho Valley

Basho is lush green, pine forested and beautiful valley located 20km from the Skardu airport. This valley is famous for its green meadows, waterfalls and pine forest.

• Shangri-La Resort  

Shangrila resort Skardu was named "Heaven on Earth" because of its mesmerizing beauty, spectacular view and breathe taking atmosphere. This heavenly resort is located 35km from the Skardu built on a beautiful lake. This resort is best known for its boating in Skardu.

• Sadpara Lake

This lake is the ultimate fairy-tale with bright blue, bursting with rainbow, surrounding by glacier and Scenic Mountains. Sadpara Lake is also a major tourist’s attraction, famous for fishing and boating.

• Shigar Valley

Shigar Valley is 23 km away from Skardu; this valley is gateway to the mighty Karakarum Mountains, the valley is known for proliferating varieties of crop and fruits such as apricots, walnuts, pears, peaches and grapes. • Cold Desert of Skardu

At the cold region and high altitude “Sand dunes” are not less than a wonder. Katpana Desert and Shigar Desert are listed among the major tourist attraction in Skardu. Sand Dunes are also known as Cold Desert.

• Buddha Rock Curving

This rock curving came into existence when Buddhism was practicing in the region. Buddhist monks of that time carved drawings of their vision, experiences and images of Buddha with text written in Tibetan Language. The Buddhist rocks were the place of their worship till the mid-14^th Century A.D before the advent of Islam in the region. The Buddhist rock is located in a village on the way to Satpara Lake.

• Kharpocho Fort

Kharpocho Fort stands at a height of nearly 1,400 meters above the city. A brute fist of stone and rock, the rough edges of the fort make it seem like it was forged out of the mountain itself. The ancient and famous fort, gives you a hill top view of the whole town, you can see the Indus River crawls under the feet of the mighty fort.  

• Upper Kachura Lake

The most mesmerizing lake in Skardu, 70 meters deep Lake is enclosed by fruit laden braid and forests within the foreground and also the snow lined peaks and mountains within the background. The lake is located 20km from the Skardu city.
